The girls wrestling team went 2-0 in the first round of the Women’s state wrestling duals beating New Manchester 54-18 and then beating Stone Mountain in a tie that went to criteria with a final score of 43-42. Congratu-lations to Coach Armocida and our lady wrestlers.
The Varsity Softball Team wants to thank everyone who supported them on their journey to the state tournament. The team finished their season with 18 wins and 15 losses. The team finished the regular season as a second seed, the highest ever. The young ladies defeated Richmond Hill 7-6 on Friday winning the school’s first Fastpitch State Tournament Game.
Our Girls Fastpitch Softball Team did a collection for the CHS Comfort Closet and delivered the donations last week! The CHS Comfort Closet provides free personal care items for students and families in need. Students are able to access the Small Comforts Closets at any time to receive basic travel size toiletries and school supplies. There are 2 Small Comforts Closets on campus located by the Counseling Dept. suite and in Ms. Fain’s office, who is our social worker. Families are able to visit the Comfort Closet to receive full sized personal & household care items by scheduling with Ms. Fain at Lara.Fain@cobbk12.org.
School Safety at Football Games
Our goal is to keep all students safe, and therefore, we ask that parents communicate with your student that they are expected to leave the building at 3:45 if the student is not associated with an organization or athletic event that is performing or supporting the game. Tickets may be purchased on GoFan.
Our football games start at 7:30 PM, and the gates open at 6:00 PM. The games usually end at 9:30 PM. Students may not bring any kind of bag into the football game, and there is no re-entry into the game.
For all students’ safety, we need our parents’ assistance with picking up their student on time. We will send a text message close to the end of the third quarter asking that parents begin to come to the school. Students are expected to be picked up no later than 45 minutes after the game ends.
Students who are not picked up at that time, will remain with our campus officer until the parent arrives. We had students waiting for their parents until after midnight at our first home football game, and we were very concerned for their safety.
Please remind your student that the same code of conduct that is expected during the school day is also expected before and after school at all athletic practices and games, clubs, fine arts, and other school events.
